Martial art is a study. And this is the one thing that is very significant. It's not a sport, because now there is a martial sport. But really it's an art that teaches an individual to align their mind, their body and their spirit.
It's a physical activity that helps you align yourself physically, mentally and spiritually.
So, it can be many things. The important thing to you is that it is martial, which means it's based on war. I personally believe that it doesn't mean war between country but conflict instead. So, it can be the conflict that one has with oneself, whether it's an anger issue or they are lazy or they don't have a connection between their mind, their body and their spirit. Martial art allows them to bridge those things and learn more about how to be a warrior in dealing with conflict. Martial arts is not using it as an excuse for certain behaviour, but facing things and attacking them head-on through discipline, hard work, and structure and aligning themselves with principle.
