Massage chairs are used for a totally different reason. Most massage chairs are used to do a chair massage. And a chair massage is where people are sitting up in a chair and therapists are doing a chair massage that usually only lasts about 7-15 minutes. There are no chair massages over 15 minutes. Usually you are just massaging the back, the neck, may be the arms, and maybe the head a little bit. It's kind of hard to massage the leg or the gluteal muscles and those types of muscles. A chair massage is used more for relaxation massages than they are for therapeutic massages, but when people are working in an office, having a therapist come in and do chair massages is great for relaxation. It helps bring circulation to the back muscles, because they are sitting up at their desk all the time and their shoulders and neck are hurting.
