It's very common for somebody to receive a TuiNa treatment sitting in just a regular chair. And though a regular chair is not as comfortable, any type of massage that can be done on a table, can be done in a regular chair. It can be done in a floor on a mat or pillows and it can be done on a chair on-site. So, the on-site chair is padded and designed ergonomically so that when you sit in it you are able to let go, relax, and sink in. You don't have to sit upright. It's positioned where you lean forward, your face falls into a nicely cushioned face cradle with a sterile disposable or changeable linen and then the massage therapist will work over your clothes. If a person is in a high visibility corporate environment, they may or may not work in the scalp area. They may work along the temples, a little bit on the ear but definitely the neck, shoulders, and the whole back. Typically it's the upper body and then into the shoulders and the forearms and the hands. It's very comfortable. A lot of people will fall sleep in a few minutes but in 15 minutes they are done. They are recharged and may not even realize that they have dozed off. They get up and are ready to go back to work. It can be really stimulating and their mind's can be very productive for the remainder of the day. So that is why it is really growing in popularity. There are some massage therapists that do nothing but specialize in on-site chair massage.
