Maui Tour Information

Maui is paradise. Maui tour information about the numerous activities, unique towns, black sand beach, just a few of Maui's inviting qualities.

Mahalo to Maui means thank you to Maui. Maui is paradise, in all its multifariousness, with its fragrant floral collection and sandy beaches, not to mention the cleanliness.

You will never want to leave this impeccably kept island. There are a variety of activities in Maui. Shopping can be a wonderful past time, with the abundance of shops and markets. The markets are very interesting and if you are looking for handmade artifacts the markets are the places to shop.

Activities in Maui include snorkeling, scuba/snuba diving, whale watching and dinner cruises for you water enthusiasts. Molokini Crater is a great place to snorkel; there is an assortment of boat tours to get you there. The trip is approximately half an hour out and the bonus is whale watching. Chances are good to spot some these large marine mammals while on your way out to the crater. The tour provides snorkel gear, but I suggest you bring your own if you can (your own fits better). Lunch is available on the boat as well.

If it is your first time at this fun water sport, the guides will provide a short training session. Then its time to jump off the boat into the warm, blue waters. Swimming among the marine life is awesome; there is nothing comparable in my books. Depending on the tour you book the water time varies. There are half and full day excursions. Again, if it is your first time I suggest the half-day trip.

Another great activity in Maui is the bike trip from Haleakala, which is the highest point in Maui. You can view the volcanoes from this location. The bike trip starts early in the morning (4:00 a.m.) A bus brings you to Haleakala with the bikes strapped to the exterior bike rack. It is approximately a two-hour trip, and the sites on the way up are incredible. Once you arrive; you are supplied with a suit (nylon jacket and pants) and of course a bike. Then, prepare yourself for an invigorating ride (downhill"¦.yay!). if given the opportunity, do not pass up this trip, it is most memorable.

If you prefer road trips and sightseeing, the road to Hana is one you won't soon forget. The road has a myriad of bends (pack your gravol pills) and many one lane bridges. There is never a dull moment when driving the road to Hana. The sights are breathtaking, looking down at the ocean from the high cliffs; the surrounding vegetation engulfs the road. On the way up to Hana make sure to stop at Black Sand beach. There is a picnic area to have lunch. Swimming isn't recommended here because of the strong current. There are a few caves to explore and a variety of blowholes to see, the scenery is out of this world. At Black Sand beach, the water appears to be more intense in color due to the contrasting black sand.

Helicopter trips are available on an hourly basis. You can view the whole island, the volcanoes and a variety of other sights. For an extra fee the trip can be video taped if you wish. These are just a few activities to partake in while visiting Maui.

The different towns are very unique. Lahaina is where most of the boat trips start; this quaint fishing village is a must to see. Kihei, is a great place to call home base. Many different lodgings are available to suit your budget. It has great beaches and friendly people. Wailea and Ka'anapali are also good spots in Maui, although these locations tend to be more costly.

Whatever you desire, whether it be sightseeing, water sports, golfing or just relaxing on the beach with a cold drink in your hand, Maui is the place.
