Melbourne is in central Florida about 60 miles east of Orlando. The population of the city is 75,000 and county is 500,000. We're a historic beachfront community that's been here since the 1880s. We have some smaller oak trees, but because we're a saltwater community, we're very flat and not a lot grows here. We have a lot of tropical plants like palm trees and birds of paradise. We have maps of the area available for $1.65, and they also come in our information pack. Our toll free number for accommodations and information is 1-800-771-9922, and our website is www.melpb-chamber.org. The visitor's guide is in the upper right hand corner of the website. It's very easy to get in and out of our airport as well, because we're so small. Orlando International Airport is our closest large airport. Delta is the main carrier here. We have 4 or 5 direct flights from Atlanta and New York each day.
