Overview
Minnesota has plenty of detox centers, treatment centers and substance abuse support groups where receiving professional support for substance abuse is essential if a patient is going to quit destructive habits like smoking and cocaine abuse.
Detoxification Centers
Six well-known detoxification centers in Minnesota are Anoka Metro Regional, Central Minnesota Health, Dakota County Program, Salvation Army Detox, Mission Detox Center and Ramsey County Receiving Center. A detox center provides support for a patient when the patient is undergoing withdrawal. When the withdrawal symptoms pass, the patient is more likely to resist his or her addiction.
Dakota County Receiving Center
Dakota County offers a recovery center, an extended care facility and a halfway house. The recovery center exists for patients who need to undergo immediate withdrawal, similar to a detox center. The extended care facility is for patients that are likely to relapse. The halfway house exists for patients who are making progress and are attempting to develop better coping skills for their addictions.
