How to Get Money Into a PayPal Account

    Transferring money from your bank into a PayPal account is easy: It takes only a matter of minutes and a few clicks of the mouse. But first, you have to make sure your bank account is linked to your PayPal account.

  • Linking Your Checking or Savings Account to PayPal

    • Step 1

      Log into your PayPal account and click on the "My Account" tab on the upper left.


    • Step 2

      Mouse over the "Profile" menu and select "Add or Edit Bank Account."
    • Step 3

      Click the "Add" button at the lower right. You will be asked the name of your bank, the type of account, the account number and the routing number. Click "Continue." Once all the requested information is filled out, PayPal will make a small deposit and a small withdrawal to your newly added account. You will have to confirm the amount of the transaction with PayPal to complete the addition of the new account.
  • Adding Funds to Your PayPal Account

    • Step 1

      Make sure you have enough money in your bank account to complete the transaction.
    • Step 2

      Log into PayPal and again click on the "My Account" tab. Mouse over the "Add Funds" menu and select "Add Funds From Bank Account."
    • Step 3

      Select the bank account you'd like to withdraw funds from (if you have more than one account listed) on the "From" drop-down menu. In the "Amount" box, enter the amount of U.S. dollars you'd like to transfer into your PayPal account and click "Continue."
    • Step 4

      Confirm the transaction and click "Submit."

    • Tip: It takes about 3 to 4 business days for the funds transaction to be completed.
