How to Get Money From a Paypal Account

By Sabah Karimi

  • Overview

PayPal is an online banking and payment processing system that allows you to send money to an online merchant, pay bills and transfer funds electronically to your bank account or debit card for free or for a low processing fee. You will need to authorize the transfer or payment by initiating the "Withdraw Funds" process on the secure encrypted PayPal website.
    • Step 1

Log in to the PayPal Account Overview section. Enter your username and password on the PayPal website to access your account overview page. You will see a listing of tabs across the top of the page.
    • Step 2

Select "Withdraw" from the tab options across the top of the screen. This option is the third tab from the left.

    • Step 3

Decide how you want to withdraw funds. You will be presented with the following options: Withdraw funds to your bank account; Request a check from PayPal; Shop with a PayPal debit card; Get cash out of an ATM; Shop online with the PayPal Plug-In; Shop special offers with Paypal. Click on the text link to initiate the withdrawal process.
    • Step 4

Enter the information needed for withdrawal. After selecting a method of withdrawal, you can enter the total amount of funds to withdraw in a designated box. Enter both dollars and cents into this box, but do not use the dollar sign.
    • Step 5

Initiate the transfer. Make sure that the "To" box indicates the bank account or destination that you want, and select "Continue."
    • Step 6

Review the confirmation page. PayPal will allow you to review the details of the transaction before confirming the transfer. Make sure all of the accounts and amount of the transfer are correct. If you need to make changes, select "Edit." If the transaction appears correct, click "Continue" to confirm.
    • Step 7

Check your email inbox. Save the email confirmation of the transaction for your records.
