The Museum of Fine Arts is probably one of the most well respected museums in the entire country for fine arts. It is gorgeous, but a personal favorite of mine is actually the Isabelle Stuart Gardner Museum. It is on the cross street from the Museum of Fine Arts. Isabelle Stewart Gardner lived around the turn of the century and started this museum with her own collection and it's modelled after an Italian villa. So, it's like walking into a palace in Venice. It's really quite something and it's not setup like a regular museum. Paintings are often back to back and they have got a lot of furniture in there. There are a lot of unique things it's not a stuffy museum. It is gorgeous. Another interesting thing about the Isabelle Stuart Gardner Museum, she said that if anybody ever moved any of the works of art, the whole museum goes to Herbert University and they lose control of it. They can't touch anything. They do have special exhibits and shows in there on occasion, but they can't move any of the original art work. They also had a very famous robbery about 10 years ago and because they can't move anything the frame where the painting was is still there, only it's empty. They can't move it.
