That depends on where you are. Quite often, in the county you don't need one, but in the city you do. Traditionally in the cities you have to give them the first 10 feet of your property for utilities. We have utilities well through that. If you take your approach out (that first piece where you pour in, when the curb branches in the driveway), you need a permit. From the first 10 feet up to the garage, you do not need a permit. A lot of that depends on your city codes. Most cities will tell you, yes even when they don't need a permit, because they like to collect that money. You'll use your permit. Permits cost money. Before you can pour concrete, you have to have an inspector come out and visually inspect the work.

It can vary from city to city depending on what the code is.
