Yes, but there are exceptions. Having good health and being somewhat fit is definitely important. Some trails are rather easy, but some trails are rather hard or difficult and require more fitness than the easier trails. If you are not fit, pick a trail that is flat and not too long - 3 miles or less - and just kind of work your way up and just take it easy.


Our average hiking tour ranges between about 6 miles and about 9 miles. And most people hike our tours at about 2 miles an hour. So typically 3-4 or 3-5 hours is a difficult hike. We take breaks and stop for lunch and then we pretty much go with their pace.
