With the big city atmosphere, there is bound to be something fitting for everyone's style. Here are some of the things that make up the nightlife in Milwaukee.
At Random is one of the most popular bars in the Milwaukee area. It is a bit more unique than the average bar. The décor is something straight out of the 70s with dim lighting. They do not serve beer, but instead, serve other more exotic type drinks. One such drink is the Tiki Love Bowl. It is a fruity drink that is shared between two people. The prices here are a little higher than a regular bar, but that is due to the out of the ordinary drinks served.
There is a wide variety of the typical bars located throughout Milwaukee as well. These bars serve beer and other, more traditional drinks to their patrons. They range from the small corner bar to bigger, more elaborate bars like Brew City Barbeque which is also a small restaurant. Some areas of Milwaukee have bars on just about every corner, so bar hopping is a favorite past-time for many of the young twenties group. Water Street and Juneau Avenue are two of the streets that are famous for their barhopping capabilities.
The Hi-Hat Lounge and Garage is a local nightclub located near downtown Milwaukee. This club offers two areas, both with lively music. The theme is trendy and a little alternative, but nothing too extreme. There are also many other bars, shops, and restaurants in the area as well for one to explore.
The Pabst Theater, which is located right across the street from city hall, offers live music nightly. This building was built in 1895 and seats about 1400 people. Local bands and also some slightly bigger names perform here.
If you are looking for something a little classier, then Blu in the Pfister Hotel may be exactly what you are looking for. This bar specializes in Martinis, plays jazz music, serves cashews, and has comfortable sofas to lounge on. The view is also excellent. Blu is located on the 23rd floor overlooking Lake Michigan. The dress is casual, but the atmosphere is a little fancier.
Up and Under Pub is well known for its blues music. This bar is located on the east side and has live music for its patrons to enjoy. They mostly play blues, but have since diversified their music somewhat to add a little variety.
Trocadero is also a bit classier than the normal bar. They serve mostly wine and have nice soft music playing. It makes for a great atmosphere to relax in and hang out with friends. There is also a terrace where patrons can enjoy their drinks. Trocadero is located on Water Street.
