They are a very cutting-edge, artsy company, and their location in Port Elizabeth is known for being a great place to kick back and have some fun. They have a huge frozen drink list - try the "Passion Spank," one of their specialties - a daiquiri blended with fresh mango juice.

9 Yards

Located on Donkin Street, 9 Yards has made a name for itself as a hip and funky Port Elizabeth hot spot. They have a live DJ who plays upbeat and lively dance music, really spinning a great party atmosphere. They have drink specials most nights, and they even have a stylish upstairs cocktail lounge to make your feel life a true VIP.



Sovereign

If you're a sports lover, Sovereign is the club to hit when you're in Port Elizabeth. During the day, this place is a mellow and relaxed sports bar, but at night, they transform into a really impressive nightclub. They have a great light show, and they have lots of wild and fun activities on many nights. For example, Sovereign regularly throws foam parties - they were even voted the best foam party destination in the eastern [African] cape! They also have balloon drops, disco theme nights, fiesta parties, and eighties theme parties. Their lively dance music is played either by a DJ or live band. This is a great place for young people (of drinking age) to go, but if you don't like to really let loose, you will probably feel very out of your element.

Tapas Al Sol

Tapas is a Spanish restaurant and bar with two locations, one in East London and the other in Port Elizabeth. Their slogan, "a great place to waste your time usefully," truly captures the essence of this venue - it's relaxing and low-key, and you'll be so glad that you went! They have a spacious balcony where you can get a spectacular view of Port Elizabeth. They feature both DJs and live bands with any array of musical theme -- some nights they play hip hop dance music, other nights they play more laid-back soft rock. The staff is friendly and energetic, and Tapas serves delicious lunches and dinners.

Toby Joes

Toby Joes is a pub in Port Elizabeth that is famous for its exciting and crowded deck parties. During the day, this place is a laid-back pub, but after dark, it gets much more "club-like." The dress code requires that guys where pants and close-toed shoes, but ladies are welcome to wear whatever they want. Despite their pub-like environment, they have large dance floor - and great live music and disc jockeys several nights a week.
