About three years ago, Murray voted to have bottled liquor drinks so that brought in some different kinds of restaurants. If you have a restaurant that serves at least a 100 people inside, you can sell any liquor you want. It has to be like a 70:30 roll over; 70% of your sales are food and then 30% can be liquor. Now we have some restaurants that cater to that. Of course, the students here enjoy that. There are things to do in our town. It's not only restaurant-type stuff. Every summer, we have a country music concert in the stadium and it sells out at about 16,000 people. We also have the Regional Special Event Center. We have had a circus there and we have concerts there periodically. There is also a seven screen cinema. There are rodeos and boat races and things with the Murray State rodeo team. Murray State also has two theaters and they put on plays. Then, in the auditorium they have concerts and musical events. We also have a music association here. There are a lot of cultural events here for a small town.
