Flood is not going to be covered. Depending upon where you live, generally earthquakes are not covered. That is a separate policy. In places like California, on the West Coast, any place where you are on or near a fault line, you have issues. In many Atlantic states, wind and hurricane are not going to be covered on the homeowner's policy. Tornadoes are generally covered. But people who have those nice condos and nice homes right there on the water in coastal states are going to have to buy a separate wind policy because the risk is so much greater.

In some places, mold coverage is included and some places it is not, because the general definition of what homeowner's insurance is designed to do is to cover for sudden and accidental losses. Generally speaking, if there is a mold issue, it is not sudden and accidental. If there is water, it has been building up for a while and it didn't just happen yesterday. It is something that occurred over time and the mold grew and now there is this issue. If the water pipe burst, that is sudden and accidental. But if you repaired the pipe shortly after it burst and cleaned the area, you wouldn't have any mold.
