We work from 8:00 in the morning to 10:30 at night on extraction day. You get 15 minutes off for a sandwich and then you just keep going. You take frames out from the extractor, put them back in the frames, and move everything. It is vicious cycle all day long. You can do that for 1-3 days and on a good day several people can produce a barrel and a half of honey with my equipment. A barrel is a 55 gallon metal drum. We actually have a boiler in there with steam coming out. It must be 115 degrees in the honey house and I take my shirt off and wear shorts. You don't get stung because the bees have got too much honey to pick up. They have no interest in you. You already stole it; it's in the honey house.
