Yes and no. Research has shown that the initial things people find attractive are usually what ends causing a breakup or problems later on down the road. Research also shows that people who have things in common are drawn to each other. So, it's a yes and a no answer.


I think religion is a major issue in a relationship, because those are a person's core values. The problem with that is that, if you get together and become a couple, and then maybe later on get married and have children, it causes a lot of conflict. If one of you is of the Jewish faith and one is of the Christian faith, the Hanukkah and Christmas time period will have a huge difference. Every religion has different holidays, and if you have children, they will debate on which religion to raise them in. Ideally, you can accept the person fully and not debate, but that doesn't usually happen. Usually, people want to prove that their religion is right and convince the other person to conform to their religion.
