Do you remember the days of strobe lights? They were once the most creative option when it came to lighting party tents and dance floors in a festive and extravagant manner. Thank goodness the field of lighting has significantly evolved! What are some of the newer and more popular options for setting up unique lighting displays for parties? Rest assured, they won't leave you dizzy and nauseous and groping your way to the restroom door or exit!
Believe it or not, logos are actually among the more popular options for lighting in a party tent when set up by a party rental company. Logos, however, can take on a whole new meaning when displayed prominently at a party or event. In addition to company logos,which are extremely popular as options for lighting at these events,logos can also represent a family name, the name of the actual event taking place,for example "Kate's 16th Birthday Bash",and the extremely popular option of creating a logo using the names of the bride and the groom for a wedding or reception. In addition to logos, more elaborate basic lighting is now quite easily set up. From mood lighting to spotlights,the sky is the limit when it comes to lighting your party tent or function hall.
Keith Krantz is the owner/operator of Grand Central Party Rental, located in Nashville, Tennessee. A true party expert, Keith spent 23 years in international sales prior to opening his party rental business. He offers these suggestions.
"In tents we typically put up chandeliers," he explains. "And we do a lot with accent lighting. We incorporate different colored lights and shine them on the tent walls or even the ceiling of the tent. We also do a lot with logos. For a wedding, we sometimes put the bride and groom's name or initials,creating their own personal logo of sorts,on the dance floor."
Krantz's company,Grand Central Party Rental,has set up numerous events for corporate functions, and he confirms the popularity of the corporate logo being used in the lighting sequence.
"As with weddings, it's very popular to shine a corporate logo onto the dance floor," he says.
Krantz acknowledges that lighting is one major point in the party rental company business that has evolved tremendously within the past recent years, and that while the lighting can be an absolutely spectacular component in the entire party planning package,it also can up the overall cost of the party planning as well.
"With the technology changes that have gone on in lighting, there is almost unlimited creativity with regard to setting up some amazing lighting," he says.
He does, however, caution clients and party hosts not to completely throw caution to the wind when opting for an elaborate lighting package.
"You have to be willing to spend the money," he adds.
And that money can add up quickly. Lighting is indeed a new and fascinating facet in the party rental company packages, but can add a significant sum to the overall bill. Proceed with caution with paying for elaborate lighting displays.
