    Although many believe that the check is a dead form of payment due to the popularity of debit cards and online bill pay, it is still the preferred "official" payment method of bill collectors anywhere, and is actually one of the most secure ways to transfer money. However, one of the biggest problems with using checks frequently is that they will eventually run out and you will have to order more. Follow these steps to ensure that you never run out of checks.

    • Step 1

      Take out your old checkbook. If you like your old style of check, there should be a re-order form close to the end of the last book. Simply fill in your billing information, and send it to the correct address, and your checks should arrive in three to six weeks.
    • Step 2

      Go online. If you are unhappy with your current checks, there are plenty of check providers online. See the Resources section for a few places to get started.


    • Step 3

      Decide on a check design. Once you have found something you like, you will need to find a checkout option.
    • Step 4

      Enter your billing and banking information to complete your order. Make sure that the website you use is secure by looking for an "https" in the address bar. There should also be a little lock box in the lower right hand corner of your browser.
    • Step 5

      Wait for your checks to arrive. normal shipping times are between three to four weeks, but you may be able to order expedited shipping.

    • Tip: Your bank may offer discounts if you buy checks from certain outlets. Make sure to call your preferred financial institution to ask about any special deals or partnerships with check printers.
