Orlando is located in the middle of Florida. It is south of Gainesville, east of Daytona Beach, west of Tampa and north of the Lauderdale/Miami area. One of the wonders of central Florida is that the weather is extremely kind during the winter months. The average temperatures year round are in the low 70s. We are in a subtropical climate, so obviously during the summer months it gets extremely hot. We have afternoon thunder showers, but it is usually very sunny. In the wintertime, you'll find temperatures typically not lower than the 50s or 60s. Rarely will we drop below freezing. We have a wet and dry season. During the winter months between December and May, there is not much rainfall. In the summer, it's typically much heavier.
