Outdoors Activities in St. Helens, Oregon. Outdoors activities in the city parks of St. Helens, Oregon include horseback riding, mountain biking, camping, and boating. We have city parks. I can't say that...
We have city parks. I can't say that we have as many organized trails as we would like, but we have access to a lot. There is an old logging road just 8 miles southeast of us where you can ride horses, ride mountain bikes, and run. It's a multi-use recreational trail that the county is developing even further. There's one beach on the river. I would not say that it's necessarily a swimming hole. It's more for on the shore type play.
We have RV parks as well, but they're nothing out of the ordinary. A lot of our county parks actually allow camping with RV facilities. The Columbia County Fairgrounds also allow group RV camping. McCormick Park, which is a really nice city park, and St. Marina, which is where the kayaking places are, also allow RVs. You can camp, and then there are activities to do there as well. Big Eddy Park is a county park that I've heard that it's very nice, too.
