The Palms Hotel/Casino may be the new kid on the block in Las Vegas, but this kid is setting new standards for entertainment!
One of the hottest hotels in Las Vegas at present isn't where you think it'd be - on the popular Las Vegas Strip. In fact, it's off the beaten path and hardly visible from the other major hotels! But the Palms has been racing up the charts for one of the most famous and chic places to stay in Vegas for years. Let's take a look around and see if you'd like to make this your oasis next time you're in Vegas!
The Palms opened up in late November of 2001, built by the Maloof family. Far from being strangers to the exotic world of casinos and resorts, the Maloof family had the experience and the reputation after developing the Fiesta Casino in 1994. As well, their holdings included the Sacramento Kings of NBA fame as well as the Scaramento Monarchs, a female basketball team in the WNBA. With such esteemed backing there was no doubt that this hotel/casino was going to be something to keep your eye on.
Let's start with making sure you have some place to put your feet up after an exhausting day at the tables. The hotel rooms at the Palms range from comfortable guestrooms to the famous "Real World" suite from the MTV television series to special "playpens" designed specifically to host bachelor and bachelorette parties. And unique to the Palms alone, the NBA suites - placed on the top four floors of the hotel to host basketball players with extra headroom and specially designed furniture to accommodate their needs.
You can stay in your room and enjoy a fantastic view of Las Vegas, but let's take a walk downstairs to see what this hotel has to offer in the way of entertainment.
If you and your date are looking for a quiet intimate night at the movies, look no further. Brenden Theaters is the place to take your sweetie, with a 14 screen Cineplex running the hottest films out of Hollywood. And here's a bonus - there are actually special seats for lovebirds, placed close together without that annoying barrier between you! Curl up with your honey and watch a first-rate movie with all the bells and whistles that technology can provide! Digital sound, curved screens and THX technology guarantee every movie to be a blockbuster!
After that why not check out the Ghost Bar, one of the newest nightclubs? Situated 55 floors above ground level, this fantastic club features a see-through floor that allows you to view the Skin Pool Lounge just below you. With live DJ's spinning almost every type of tune you can imagine, this is one happening place to be!
And of course, who hasn't heard of Rain? The Rain Nightclub is an adults-only venue that is sure to overwhelm your senses! Special computer programs generate fourteen-foot long fireballs that roar over your head on the dance floor while water fountains cool you off even as the pounding beat carries you onwards and upwards. And that's not all - Rain also has a concert stage where the famous ones come to play and party! The Goo Goo Dolls, Nelly and Ozzy Osbourne are only a few of the famous names that have jumped up on stage and delivered a surprise performance to the astonished audience.
But now that you're exhausted, let's find something to eat and refuel! Looking for some gourmet French cuisine? Go no further than the Alize restaurant with award-winning chef Andre Rochat! Or if you're in the mood for seafood, check out the Blue Agave Restaurant - with fresh oysters and a blend of Mexican, Southwestern and Latin America cuisine, this is one place you can't pass up. If you want to go full Mexican, head on over to Garduno's Restaurant for some authentic Mexican specialties and some new twists on old favorites!
The Little Buddha Restaurant delivers quality sushi and Asian dishes for the discriminating diner and has received numerous awards for their enlightening food. And while in Vegas, why not eat like you're in Chicago? The N9ne Steakhouse (yes, that's a "9" in there!) is family to the famous Chicago steakhouse chain and delivering the same high quality of steak dinners.
If you're not in the mood for a full meal, check out the Sunrise Café and the Fantasy Market Buffet - both reasonably priced and guaranteed to have something that you'll love to eat!
But what about cooling off in a pool? Well, that's where the Palms stands head and shoulders above the rest of Las Vegas! Skin is the name of the poolside lounge that awaits you after you dunk yourself in the cleansing waters of the Palms pool - but this lounge has more to offer than just good food and television sets! At night it transforms into an outdoor nightclub complete with a raised dance floor for you to break out those new moves and a concert stage for performers to help you dance away those hours.
And, of course, what's a hotel without a good spa? With up-to-date fitness equipment, a massage room and a tropical pool to soak those aches and pains away, the Palms Spa and Salon is a perfect way to either end your day or start your morning.
While only a quarter mile away from the Las Vegas Strip and the older brothers and sister casinos/resorts, the Palms has broken new ground in providing a fully rounded experience for the Vegas visitor. Television shows and poker tournaments are filmed there, providing ample chance to see stars at work while the casinos can be your own chance to break into stardom! Why not wander from the Strip next time you visit Las Vegas and see what's out there!
