I think that there is a pragmatic aspect to it, but I think it appeals to people. Most people think about it their whole lives; they are in school and all of a sudden they are just thrown out in the world. That's another good point I think that you know, counseling and therapy has often been associated with people who are having difficulty functioning. For some reason, they are not functioning well and that's normally why people would seek a counselor. If you use the example of an athlete like Michael Jordan who had a coach, most of the people who hire coaches are actually high functioning. So what coaches are looking for is the high functioning, very effective people who wish to be even more so or wish to really get the juice out of life. I think on some level all of us want that. That's more the focus of life coaching; it is not just getting by, it is getting juicy. I think the traditional view of counseling is just trying to get out of the pit you dug for yourself, but coaching is about really taking off and running with your life.
