Soviet World War II era artillery rest atop Gellért Hill at the Citadella as a monument to the bloody Siege of Budapest. The battle was fought between the Germans and the Soviets and lasted from December 1944 until February 1945. The battle was one of the bloodiest sieges in World War II and left the city in ruins, with more than 80% of its buildings damaged and all five bridges linking Buda to Pest destroyed.

Never one for portraiture or stunning vistas, I instead train my lens on traditionally less photogenic subject matter. I love to explore and photograph forgotten corners of a city. Most of my photos were taken in Austin, but you wouldn't recognize them as the usual tourist destinations. My goal -- to find beauty in the mundane and forgotten parts of our decaying and disappearing history. I want to convey a story with my images, or at least capture something in a way most might not have considered.
