Pregency exercises are benificial to an expecting mother. Here are a few reasons explaining why exercise is so important during pregnancy.
Pregnancy is a time of change, emotionally and physically. Exercise can help during pregnancy to ease pain, boost self esteem and help to make labor easier and maybe even shorter. The more fit you are, the better you'll feel.
Walking is one of the best exercises since it doesn't require much, and it's easy to do. By taking a stroll or two twice a day, energy levels can be increased, since energy tends to make energy. The better fit you are during your pregnancy the easier it is to get back in shape post baby.
Since most pregnant women tend to eat more, they also take in extra fats and calories that they don't really need. Exercising can use some of those calories and help mom to avoid dieting during pregnancy.
If you have an exercise routine pre-pregnancy, then you should be able to continue those routines, as long as you take extra care to drink plenty of fluids and stretch before beginning. If you weren't big on exercise before pregnancy, now is the time to start. Talk with your doctor about how much you can and can't do and always stop when you're tired. Start slowly, and build up as you go.
There are many good exercise videos for pregnancy, which is a great place to start if you can't walk or find another outdoor cardio exercise.
So while you're busy taking care of baby to be, don't forget to take care of yourself! Eat right, exercise and get plenty of rest. And always remember to talk with your doctor before starting any kind of exercise routine.
