Step 1
Open a blank document in Microsoft Word. Click the "New Blank Document" button on the toolbar, or click "New" on the "File" menu in Word 2003. In Word 2007, click the "Office" button and then click "New."
-
Step 2
On the tools label, click "Letters and Mailings" > "Envelopes and Labels" > "Labels," if you are using Word 2003 or earlier. In Word 2007, go to the "Mailings" tab on the ribbon, and then click on "Envelopes" in the "Create" section.
-
Step 3
Click the "Options" button on the "Envelopes and Labels" dialog box. Under "Product Number," choose an option that allows you to print 4-up postcards. One reliable choice is "Avery Standard number 3263." Click your selection and then click "OK."
-
Step 4
Click the "New Document" button. A new Word document will open, showing your postcards. If you do not see lines between the postcards and you want to, go to "Borders and Shading" from the "Format" menu in Word 2003, or from the "Paragraph" section of the "Home" tab in Word 2007. Under "Borders," select "All" and then click "OK."
-
Step 5
Type the message you want onto each postcard. You can also insert a picture or clip art. To do so, go to the "Insert" tab in Word 2007 and choose "Picture" or "Clip Art," or point to "Picture" from the "Insert" file in earlier versions of Word. Print your completed postcards on card stock or heavy paper and cut them on the lines.
