Step 1
Fill the bowl with boiling hot water. Be aware of the temperature, so that you do not scald your skin. Gather the WD-40, alcohol and washcloths then locate the printer ink stain.
-
Step 2
Dab the corner of one of the washcloths on the stain. If the ink is still moist, you will be able to bring most of it out of the carpet. Press hard on the stain but do not rub.
-
Step 3
Spray a fine mist of WD-40 on the spot of ink. Let this sit for approximately five minutes. Then use a different corner of the same washcloth as in step 2, then press firmly on the stain. The WD-40 will lift the ink out of the fibers in the carpet from floorboards.
-
Step 4
Dip a corner of the same washcloth into the hot water. Press firmly on the stain. Remember, do no rub or you can ruin your carpet. Rinse the cloth out then press firmly and blot the stain again.
-
Step 5
Poor a dime size amount of rubbing alcohol on to a corner of the second washcloth. Blot the stain with the alcohol. Apply more alcohol to the cloth and blot again. You should complete this step approximately 3 times.
-
Step 6
Take a dry corner of the washcloth and blot the moisture. At this point, most if not all the printer ink stain is gone. If there still remains a small spot, repeat steps 2 to 6.
