The normal process is mother has given birth normally and immediately after her birth she is pretty euphoric in holding her baby. The care providers will be assessing the placenta's readiness to be delivered and also assessing any perineal trauma, perineal tears that need to be sutured. So the process for her is stabilizing her physical body and making sure that all of her vital signs are stable but keeping her warm and making sure that the placenta delivers within a normal time frame and that her bleeding is under control. The most important thing that we are looking for is excessive bleeding and/or what her physical state is like right after the birth.
