If you have oily skin, problem skin, or even normal skin, these treatments will deepen your glow.

Skin Treatments or Masks:

1. Lemon mask for oily skin

What you need:

1/4- 1/2 cup of Potter's Clay

1 Lemon (equivalent lemon juice concentrate)

For this mask you need a ball of potter's clay or any other type of clay. Make a ball with the clay in the palm of your hand, filling your palm. Squeeze lemon juice into the ball, and roll it around in your hand. This is great for battling oiling skin. Place the mask on face, and allow it to set for 15-20 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water. Your skin will be refreshed and drier for days!

Cucumber Mask:

What you need:

1 Tbsp. Plain yogurt

1 Tbsp. Cucumber

1 Tbsp. Parsley

Chop the cucumber finely and mix with the yogurt and parsley until smooth. Cover your face with this creamy mask. This will rejuvenate your skin as it moistens. Leave the mask on for approximately 15-20 minutes for the best effects. Rinse with water. *This mixture can not be stored.

Mint mask:

1 Tbsp. Ground or powdered Spearmint

1 Tbsp. Honey

1 Tbsp. Oil (cooking)

Combine all ingredients, mixing thoroughly. Apply this mask to your face, leaving on for approximately 20 minutes. Afterward, rinse with cool water. *This mixture can be stored for up to a month in a glass jar.

Rose Water or Orange Water:

Many years ago, our grandmothers and great-grandmothers used to make their own beauty products. They used rosewater and vegetable glycerin to make lotions. Today we have many new and innovative products, but sometimes the natural, old-fashioned techniques are the most beneficial. Perhaps this is why there has been an upsurge in all-natural products.

To make the rosewater or orange water that are listed in some of the ingredients for these spa treatments, simply simmer rose petals or orange petals in steaming water for approximately ten minutes. Use a 2-quart saucepan of water and add a handful of petals. To preserve the orange or rose water, add alcohol. Use 3 pints of rose or orange water to 1 pint of alcohol. * Place in a bottle and store for up to a month. For longer storage, freeze mixture.

Lotions:

Orange Lotion

What you need:

1/2 oz. Cocoa butter (melted)

1 oz. Orange juice (fresh is better)

1 oz. Warm olive oil

2 drops of Orange flower oil.

Mix all ingredients until smooth. This can be stored in a jar or bottle. Just apply to clean skin for a different, zesty moisturizer that won't clog your pores. This is a great all-natural moisturizer. *This lotion can be stored for up to a week.

Rosemary Lotion (oily skin):

1 oz. Rose petal or rose water

1 Tbsp. Egg white

1 oz Rosemary tea

Mix all ingredients until smooth, and apply the solution to your face. Leave it on for 20 minutes, and rinse with cool water. This oil-free lotion is especially good for moisturizing oily skin. *This lotion can not be stored. It must be made fresh for each use.

Eye Rejuvenators

Cucumber Slices:

What you need:

1 Cucumber

Cut the cucumber into 1/2 inch slices. Lie down and place these on your eyes for at least 15 minutes. Not only is this relaxing, but it also reduces puffiness.

Cucumber- Yogurt Eye Smoother and Moisturizer

What you need:

1/2 cup of Chopped Cucumber (skinned)

1/4 cup of Plain yogurt

1 Egg

1 Warm washcloth

Mix all of the ingredients until smooth, and apply mixture to closed eyes. Be sure to cover the entire area surrounding eyes. Apply the warm cloth over eyes for 20 minutes. Rinse face with warm water. This mixture will help to relieve puffiness and moisturize your eyes as well. *Mixture must be made fresh for each use.

Skin Steaming Solution

What you need:

1 Tbsp. Licorice

1 Tbsp. Fennel Seeds

1 Tbsp. Mint Leaves

1 Tbsp. Parsley

1 Qt. Water

Mix 1/2 oz. of the herbs in 1 quart of steaming water. Place the steaming pot on a table and cover your head with a towel. Do not place face closer than 10-12 inches from the pot to prevent burning. This spa treatment releases essential oils and rich herbs into your skin, making it softer and more youthful. This is great for your pores as well. * Can be stored for up to a week.

Hair Treatment:

What you need:

1 can of Beer (any type)

1 Egg

Mix these ingredients and apply to your hair. Let this set on your hair for at least 15 minutes before washing. Do this once a month for added shine and luster. *This solution can not be stored.

Hot-Oil Treatment

What you need:

1/4-1/2 cup Olive Oil or other cooking oils depending on hair length and type.

1 Tbsp. Orange water or orange juice.

Mix the ingredients and apply to hair BEFORE washing. Leave on the hair for 15 minutes and then wash as usual. Sometimes you must wash hair twice to remove the oily residue. *This solution can be stored for up to a month.
