We provide obviously the boat, captain, and the crew. In our case, fuel is included. We will provide tables, chairs, linens, ice and other key things. Most caterers don't bring enough ice and if the guest is not using a caterer, they don't know how much ice to bring in. I provide ice all free of charge. We provide sound systems on both levels where the guests can bring their own CDs. If they forget CDs, which happens quite often, we have a huge variety on board. Some of my competitors will provide the boat captain, crews and fuel and that's it.

You want to do a little bit of homework. Most every charter company has a website. On some, you fill out your name, address and then they give you an estimate of what you are looking at. One of my competitors has a huge paddle wheeler; we charge $500 an hour and they charge $1200 an hour. By the time it is all said and done with renting every little item for the boat, you are going to be up to $8000 per hour if you have 200 to 300 people. Those are the kind of things you have to know. Are there any pickup fees; are there any port fees? Some of our competitors charge a port fee, which means every time they leave the dock they charge extra. I can certainly see a pick up fee when you have to travel a distance to pickup guest.
