Ron L. Hubbard started off in Dianetics saying, "What is the purpose of Life?" He looked at life and said, "Well, it seems it has the purpose to survive." Then, he looked further and said, "Well, the spirit can't do anything but survive." The purpose of the spirit is to create. Life is a creation. A person's own purpose is something they can discover. I think that's the kind of thing you can look at and discover. Scientology is like a "path to discovery," more than it is "the answer." Maybe Buddhism can be thought of as a little bit like that. In a way, Buddhism was laying out a path. Here's the path. Here's the way, to what? It's about the path. Scientology is like a path. To what? To something better. You almost have to walk along the path to get the something better.
