The purpose of the vegetable drawer or crisper: I have two answers; first it's probably organizational. People always wonder what they should do with certain items. It's inconvenient to store all that stuff on a shelf. So there is a utility of simply having a drawer to locate your vegetables. There is a subtle nuance to that and consumers by and large don't like us manufacturers telling them what the drawer is because they want to determine and control what that is. So for some people they may not for whatever reason, they may not buy vegetables, maybe in extreme cases but they may put their fruit in the drawer. It may also be for someone that is a big meat eater, they go to a discount outlet and they buy in bulk and that may be for that use. It could also be used to store children's snacks and juice boxes.

Second, it's for air/humidity control. We use a type of baffle system to allow the air that is circulating in the product entry into that drawer. We are trying to mesh, confine, restrict or let in cold air and, as we do that, the level of the humidity changes a little bit in the drawer. The biggest benefit of our products is preserving food. By putting in a crisper drawer, it gives the consumer the felling of control over maintaining the freshness of their food. By giving them a humidity controlled drawer, consumers tend to be happier.
