Try this tempting meat and cabbage loaf recipe to spice up your meals!
1 1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
2 lg eggs
1/2 c cracker meal
Mix and salt as for meat loaf.
Wash a cored med head of cabbage. Grease baking dish and put layer of cabbage-salt. Add a layer of meat (1/2). Then another layer of cabbage-salt, the other 1/2 of meat. Pour sauce over and bake 2 hours at 325 degrees.
SAUCE:
Melt 3 tbsp crisco in skillet. Add a med choppedo nion and brown. And 6 oz can tomato paste, 2 cans water, 1 tsp salt, 4 tbsp vinegar, 4 tbsp brown sugar, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp giner, 1/4 tsp ground mustard. Let come to a boil, pour over meat loaf. Cut through last hour so sauce can penetrate better.
