First of all, you enter into a meditative state. Today, especially in Western civilization, there are so many stressed out people. One good reason to go out and fly a kite is to really destress.
It is great way to stimulate conversation within families. It is a great way to create memories, going out flying kites with your kids. It is something that your child will always remember and will be able to then share with his or her family.
Kites also get you out into the fresh air, and so you're able to do some exercise. There are some children who like to run with kites, although that is not the proper way to fly a kite, but there is that activity, the recreational part of it.

Those are the ingredients that go into creating something new. Ben Franklin discovered electricity by flying kites, so did the Wright Brothers. Parachutes were first kites. We learned a lot about weather through kiting. The first aerial photograph was taken by a kite. In the San Francisco fire of 1906, there were no airplanes, so two kites were launched with a camera attached, and it took pictures of the damage.
The inspiration part is really wonderful. That helps to point us into the direction of creating I think a more ethical and peaceful world. Flying a kite has its own language, and it brings people together despite language barriers.
