Overview
With households relying on their inkjet printers to produce everything from presentations and documents for work and school, application forms, and letters for correspondence, replacing black ink cartridges has become an expensive process. Instead of purchasing a new cartridge each time you run out of ink, it is cheaper and more environmentally sound to simply refill the empty cartridge. Here is a quick and easy way of refilling your HP 26 ink cartridge in just a few steps.
Refilling your HP cartridge is cost effective and good for the environment.
-
Step 1
Take the empty ink cartridge out of the printer and put it into the cartridge holder. Make sure the cartridge snaps securely into the holder. Turn the cartridge and holder upside down so that you can see the bottom. -
Step 2
Fill the syringe with 20 ml of black ink. Insert the needle into the hole at the bottom of the cartridge holder and slowly inject the ink into the cartridge. -
Step 3
Flip the cartridge holder back up and hold it over the toilet paper. Insert the air pump into the hole on the cartridge bottom and pump it five times. The excess ink that has not settled into the cartridge's air vacuum will drip out. -
Step 4
Take the cartridge out of the holder and clean the nozzle and filling hole with a piece of toilet paper. -
Step 5
Return the cartridge to the printer, and use the printer's included software to run a head cleaning utility three times. The cartridge should now be ready to print.
