Overview
As printer ink cartridges become smaller in size and as households use their inkjet printers more frequently, replacing empty ink cartridges has become a costly process. Refilling your printer cartridges with the appropriate ink is a cost effective solution that also reduces environmental waste. The wide availability of bulk printer ink and refill kits makes it easy to reuse your ink cartridges on demand.
Refilling your HP ink cartridge is cheap and easy to do.
-
Step 1
Take the empty ink cartridge out of your HP printer and gently peel back the sticker label on the top. There should be five holes. -
Step 2
Turn the cartridge so that the four hole group is facing towards you. -
Step 3
Place the cartridge over some paper towels. Fill a syringe with 10 ml of black ink. Insert the needle into one of the two holes closest to you. Make sure the needle tip reaches the bottom of the cartridge. -
Step 4
Slowly inject the ink into the cartridge. Be careful to not overfill the cartridge. -
Step 5
Remove the syringe needle and place the cartridge so that it is hanging over some paper towels. Make sure the cartridge itself is not directly touching the paper towels. Leave the cartridge there for an hour so any excess ink can drip out. -
Step 6
Insert the refilled cartridge back into the printer.
