How to Refill HP Ink Cartridge 94

By Catherine Johnson

  • Overview

Rather than purchasing a new ink cartridge each time your printer runs out of ink, it is much more affordable and convenient to refill the cartridges. Reusing plastic printer cartridges, also helps reduce environmental waste. Bulk inks and printer refill sets make it simple to refill your inkjet cartridges on demand.
Quickly refill your HP cartridge when it becomes empty.
    • Step 1

Remove the HP 94 ink cartridge from your printer and place it on top of a paper towel. Pull off the label at the top of the cartridge to show the five holes underneath.
    • Step 2

Rotate the cartridge so that the four-hole group is near you and the single hole is facing away from you.

    • Step 3

Pull 10 ml of ink into the syringe and then insert the syringe needle deep into one of the two holes nearest to you. The syringe needle should touch the bottom of the cartridge.
    • Step 4

Inject the ink carefully into the cartridge, taking care to not overfill the sponge inside.
    • Step 5

Take out the syringe and place the cartridge over the small cup. Leave it there for at least an hour so that any excess ink drips out.
    • Step 6

Replace the cartridge in the printer. Run the HP head-cleaning tool several times.
