We have more dining seats per capita than any other city in the nation. Our Old Town section is a hotspot for food, because the restaurants offer patio dining and a relaxed atmosphere where you can even bring your dog. Old Town is just a little square within our downtown section. Austin's American Grill is a popular restaurant here with two locations - one on the southern end of town and one in Old Town. They serve American foods like buffalo burgers, baby back ribs, and mashed potatoes. Downtown has many great restaurants. Jay's Bistro has fine dining and a sophisticated atmosphere. They won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and they feature an Oyster Bar and Piano Jazz in the Lobster Lounge. Verne's Place is on the way up to the Poudre Canyon. They offer a home style breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Silver Grill is another downtown restaurant that is famous for their home style breakfasts. They offer a 50's atmosphere and feature historic photos of the restaurant. Something else that's kind of unique is The Hot Dog Man. He actually appeared on the Today Show and conducted seminars for the Aspen Food and Wine Festival. He handcrafts wild game sausages from his own recipes and runs a successful hot dog stand. He's very well known because his hot dogs are wonderful.
With 7 or 8 in town, we also have the most breweries per capita than any other city in Colorado. Cooperson's Pub in Old Town actually makes their beer on site. The New Belgium Brewery is a large brewery with tours and tastings. They are very environmentally friendly being off the power grid for about 17 hours per day, because they generate a lot of their own power through wind and the beer they create.
