Bend is said to have more restaurants per capita than any other city in the State of Oregon. It really runs the gamut - we have French restaurants, Mexican restaurants, Italian restaurants, steakhouses. It's very varied for a town our size.
Downtown is where some of our more eclectic restaurants are included. One is Merenda, which is somewhat Italian, but not entirely. They have some very nice wines. Most of their entrees are in the $15-$25 range. Another popular one is the Pine Tavern Restaurant. It's one of the oldest restaurants in town and it's very popular with visitors. It has a couple of pine trees growing right through the roof in the dining room and it's right on Mirror Pond. They serve everything from river trout to prime rib to burritos.
