Being on the Gulf of Mexico, our specialty is seafood. You can watch the shrimp boats come in and unload on the dock. They sell directly to the restaurants. We also have local fish like snapper and grouper. We have foods for land lover as well. We have a lot of wonderful cuisine flavored a little bit by the Caribbean. We have every ethnic food you could imagine, and even have restaurants that are geared for kids where their dinner is served on a Frisbee rather than a plate, so they can play at the beach the next day.
One of the best known restaurants in our area is the Bubble Room which is filled with nostalgia from the 1930s, 40s and 50s. It's called the Bubble Room for the bubble lights on the ceiling that used to go on Christmas trees. They have an oversize Mickey Mouse and post cards of old Florida, so it's a real delight for your eyes as well as your palate there. Their desserts probably feed 6 people with one slice. One piece of cake is usually the size of a quarter of a cake. The dessert tray that they exhibit must weigh 20 lbs, so I definitely think you could find something you like. We definitely have the full range of fast food restaurants as well for families on a budget.
