Restaurants in Hopkinsville, KY. Restaurants in Hopkinsville, KY include mom and pop shops like the hamburgers of Farrell's Snappy Service, and a restaurant and bar inside the Holiday Inn. I think everybody...
I think everybody who comes to Hopkinsville needs to get a Farrell's hamburger from Farrell's Snappy Service. It's just a very small place with about 5 bar stools. They serve hamburgers, chili, and chips. They don't have fries or anything like that, but they do serve breakfast. They're open 24 hours and have been here since the 40s under the same owners. Their distinctive taste has been written up in magazines across the nation. Their burgers are similar to White Castle, but better. College kids get them buy the bagful and take them back to school in Fort Campbell. Mr. Farrell died a few years back, but Mrs. Farrell still comes in every morning at 4:30.
Of course we've also got a large variety of chain restaurants as well as mom and pop places where you can get a plate with meat and three vegetables. A lot of visitors who have been on the road say they prefer those places to the chains. I do want to mention one in particular. The Horse Shoe Restaurant is only open in the evenings Monday through Saturday, but it has some great food. You can get steak or a hamburger or whatever.
As for bars, the Holiday Inn sometimes has bands and karaoke at night. Downtown we have The Loose Floor with live bands as well. I won't say that we're known for any particular drink, but we do serve good barbecue, burgers, and Western Kentucky goulash, which is a bit thicker than soup and has a mix of barbecue beef or pork and vegetables in it.
