We are a big enough city to have a full cross-section of everything from the "hole in the wall" taco place to the high end chef's restaurants. Beavers is one of those high end places. We have Modern Steak House which is a national chain, but it's also very high end. We have the Esquire Grill and Lucas in downtown, which are frequented by Governor Schwarzenegger because they are not too far from the State Capitol Building. We have a Hard Rock Café as well. I wouldn't say that Sacramento has a specialty per se like New Orleans Cajun cooking. We have a wide variety. Perhaps the most famous restaurant is Sacramento is an Asian place called Frank Fat's which has been around since 1939. One of their signature dishes is Honey Walnut Prawn, which became famous because it was the place where lot of lawmakers and lobbyists would go to talk about the deals going on in the state legislature.

The Sacramento River Dinner Cruise is a dinner boat that will take you up and down the river. The Delta King is a floating hotel that people also go to for dinner. It doesn't go anywhere, but it's a way to eat dinner on the river. Individual chartered boats and the Ferry Sacramento will also have dinner cruises. It's a very fun experience.

The biggest Sacramento area for nightclubs is Old Sacramento. There are a number of comedy clubs and saloons. A lot of retired NBA players like it as a hot spot. There are hip-hop clubs and piano bars, and then in midtown there are a number of dinner theater type places as well.
