How Do I Find The Right Hypnotherapist For Me?

How do I find the right hypnotherapist for me? The hypnotists are not counselors, but the closest studies that have been done on the effectiveness of any kind of related profession have been done with counselors.

I am going to give you different advice than a lot of people would because I've looked at the studies. The hypnotists are not counselors, but the closest studies that have been done on the effectiveness of any kind of related profession have been done with counselors. What matters most is the relationship between the hypnotherapists and the patient, because really that's what is healing. The biggest factor is rapport. Do you feel like you have a connection with somebody? Do you feel like they speak your language? Are you comfortable talking on the phone with them?

So my advice is to find somebody that you are comfortable talking with. You can find a hypnotherapist in the Yellow Pages. If you go to www.ngh.net (NGH is the National Guild of Hypnotists) you can click on your state, and either e-mail the main information there and ask for referral. Also on the site is a listing of the state chapter presidents and their phone numbers. You can call them and ask if there's somebody with good rapport that can help you. A feeling of connection with the person is the most important thing, much more important in terms of the client's satisfaction rating.
