If you drive, you've probably seen it, but what is Road Rage. One of the most common yet dangerous of drivingincidents on the road today.
You're driving down the road minding your own business. The speed limit is posted 65 MPH. All is well but then you notice a flash in your rear view mirror. There's a driver behind you that's so close to your car that you'd swear he was going to pull his car onto your trunk any minute. This person keeps flashing his lights at you. Because it's the morning rush hour, you can't change lanes fast enough, so this driver whips around your car, cuts you off, then slams his breaks on, causing you to nearly tail end his car. Does this sound familiar?
Some kind of personality altering spell overcomes some people as soon as they get behind the wheel of an automobile. They seem to feel that they are invincible, and that they are the master of the freeway, and if anyone dares to get in their way, they will pay a heavy price. The price that an alleged offender will pay could possibly be their lives.
The ways to protect yourself from road rager's are:
Never give eye contact! Just ignore the guy because just looking at him, he could get the message that your "challenging" him, and that could make the guy get more dangerous. Don't underestimate the rager; you never really know what he's capable of doing to you. Some people do carry guns.
No matter how obnoxious the other driver is, don't retaliate. Making an obscene gesture will only make matters worse, and could lead to this person getting even more violent. Just try to safely get away from the obnoxious person.
NEVER drive to your home. If a rager is following you, either try to lose him safely, or pull into a police station. While there, fill out a report on the driver.
Don't try to out run a road rager. Stay at the speed limit, and just ignore his attempts to get a reaction from you.
If you are in a minor accident, and the other person comes to your car in a hostile manner, don't open your window, and make sure you lock the doors.
