The main thing about scrapbooking stickers is that they aren't the same as regular stickers. You'll want to use acid free products throughout the book so not to harm your photographs. Acids cause color photos to turn red and to lose their color. Even regular paper and pens have acids in them. You wouldn't want to inadvertently damage pictures that you can't replace.
My personal favorites are the Creative Memories scrapbooking stickers because they are water color stickers. They don't jump out at you, and they're not normal stickers. They're not like the ones with cartoons on them or anything, so that's my style. I like to have stickers that don't distract from the photograph. They just enhance the context of the photograph. For example Creative Memories has stickers for home improvement. I had a client who was working on a scrapbook about the construction of a church building. The home improvement stickers from Creative Memories had pictures of chains saws and work benches and such, so they enhanced the story she was telling.
You should never put too many stickers on a page. If you are going to have more than one sticker, you'll want to have a cluster sticker. Try to have an odd number of stickers because odd numbers are pleasing to the eye. Don't use 2 or 4 together.
Finally, make sure your stickers are appropriate and that they don't distract from your pictures. Think about the orientation, or where you're placing them on the page. Some look nice along the border, where some look better right in the middle. If you have four pictures on a page, put your stickers in the center.
