What Is Sensitive Skin?

What is sensitive skin? Sensitive skin resembles allergies or dermatitis, is caused by cosmetics and moisturizers, and should be treated by avoiding hot water and products containing fragrance. There are...

There are no scientific tests for it. It's something that we label ourselves. Individuals who have a history of reacting to cosmetics or moisturizers usually label themselves as having sensitive skin. There are some people who actually have a true allergy to the environment. That's called atopic dermatitis, but it's a whole other form of sensitive skin. The layman's term for that is eczema.

The best way to care for sensitive skin is unfortunately to get rid of all the things that smell nice. Use products without fragrance, avoiding things that sud or bubble, and avoid hot water. It is not necessarily important to see a dermatologist before starting a skin care treatment. You can try over-the-counter products first. If that doesn't work, get an expert to help out.
