How to Set Date on a Lipman Nurit 2085

By Lynette DiPalma

  • Overview

If you've experienced a power outage or had to unplug your Lipman Nurit 2085 for any reason, then you have probably lost the date and time information stored on the unit. Since there are a whole pack of reasons to have the correct date and time stamp on your credit card receipts, you'll definitely want to correct the problem promptly. Luckily the Lipman Nurit 2085 is one of the most user-friendly units on the market, so setting the date is a quick and painless process.
    • Step 1

Turn on the unit, and wait for the screen to display the "CREDIT.....SALE, ACCOUNT ?" prompt.
    • Step 2

Press the MENU/ESC key to bring up the programming menu. The screen should now say "MENU SCREEN: 1. REPORTS".

    • Step 3

Press 5. The display should now read "SYSTEM OPTIONS 1. SET TIME/DATE."
    • Step 4

Press the ENTER key. The unit will display the date and time currently set in the machine. If you're using the machine for the first time or if power was completely lost to the unit, the time will show 12:00 and the date will show 00/00/00.
    • Step 5

Press ENTER again. This puts the unit in date/time set mode, and it will read "SETTING DATE: MM/DD/YY."
    • Step 6

Type in the date using the MM/DD/YY format.
    • Step 7

Note that the unit should now automatically display, "SETTING TIME:HH:MM:00". You must set the time each time you set the date, even if only the date is incorrect.
    • Step 8

Set the time using 24-hour or "military" time.
    • Step 9

Verify that the correct date and time are set when the unit automatically displays the new settings after you have entered the time.
    • Step 10

Press ENTER three times to exit the settings menu.
    • Skill: Easy
    • Tip: If the display fades out while you're working, just press the ON/STANDBY button to take the unit out of its automatic sleep mode.
    • Warning:
    • Leaving an incorrect time and date on your receipts may allow customers to take advantage of your return policies, or worse yet, may make a legitimate return more of a hassle then necessary, so verify that the date and time are always correct before beginning your daily transactions.
