The value, the price of the home is going to be determined by how desirable the neighborhood is, and your personal preference. For instance, I have lived in a brand new home and I have lived in a 130 year old home. So my preference is an older home if it's energy efficient. But when you pick out a neighborhood, I probably would not buy in a subdivision where all the homes are new. I'd rather buy a home in a neighborhood where the trees are mature and I may have some fixing up to do but some of that new construction homes have some horror stories as well. But if your friends are moving into a new subdivision where you know people and you are going to get together for barbecues and hang out, then you would look at it.
