The position of your eyebrow piercing is important because you do not want the ring to be in the line of sight. The piercing needs to be carefully angled back slightly so that it lies down nicely on the face instead of sticking out at an oddball angle. Once the piercing is in, it needs to be cared for very carefully. To care for the piercing, wash around it well. Wash and rotate the ring. Try and keep the hair tied back or brushed back away from it. The hair is full of grease and dirt. When it bumps around on the new piercing, you will reach up there to wipe away the hair. Whatever is on your hand and whatever you have been doing all along will be put onto the eyebrow area. You have the sweat from the head and forehead running down into it and all these things combine makes for a higher number of infections.

You will know the piercing is infected because it will be swollen, red, puffy and painful. To care for your piercing, wash it and use an antibacterial ointment on it. If it does not get better, remove it and forget about it. Also if it hasn't been positioned correctly or there has not been enough material taken on the piercing, they will tend to work their way out and push themselves to the surface.
