If you are talking about supplements, there are lot of theories and thoughts on that. My idea basically is when you are going into a workout you should be really hydrated because the less water you have in your system the less amount of chemical reactions can happen. Because most chemical reactions in the body happen in the medium of water and water is important. You can have a sport drink. There are various different sports drinks out there these days. Some are high protein which is not a bad to drink half of a container of high protein drink prior to a workout and the other half afterwards. I am not opposed to people eating something prior to working out. If you overindulge, you are not going to feel like working out. You might cramp up after eating a fairly big meal. You can eat something small and light prior to your workout.
